darewin project

Together with Fabrice Schnoller, a french engineer and scientist, Fred initiated the darewewin project in 2011.

The project aims at developing cutting edge tools to study whales and dolphins communication using the latests technologies such as VR/360 images and sounds, big data and deep learning. 

The ultimate goal is to demonstrate that there are other forms of highly intelligent and sentient beings on our planet and therefore protecting the ecosystem as a global entity where everything is interdependent. 

In September 2016 Darewin was amongst the 10 projects that would change the world chosen at the Solution Summit during United Nations General Assembly in New York.
